Haggis Scotch Eggs

(1 customer review)

Scotch eggs, a traditional British dish consisting of a shelled semi-hard-boiled egg that is wrapped in our Black pudding, covered in breadcrumbs, and then deep-fried or baked until crispy.

Cooked Scotch Eggs will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days. If you are preparing Scotch Eggs in advance, and want to store them until you’re ready to cook, you can store Uncooked Scotch Eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

You can freeze Scotch eggs for around 3 months. Frozen Scotch eggs will be perfectly safe to eat. But that doesn’t mean you should freeze them as there can be some major textural issues when freezing them so think twice before doing so.

For a recent Scotland football match I served a surprise halftime treat for the supporters in my living room. I have been thinking of the most appropriate superlative to use to describe Allan’s pies and Haggis Scotch eggs, but I think that someone else’s words says it all…. “This is the BEST meal that I have had in years!” My husband’s weekend fried egg, Lorne sausage, black pudding and haggis breakfast have also made him a very, very, very happy man!
